This declaration was adopted at the Youth Summit on Peace and a Sustainable Future, 24 July 2025, Mexico City, Mexico

This urgent and bold manifesto was crafted by young leaders to guide governments, institutions, and communities toward a more secure, dignified, and peaceful future.

Building upon the 2024 Montpellier Declaration in France, this declaration embodies the collective vision, commitments, and actionable goals of youth across the globe.

More than 675 participants from 57 countries worldwide, including in-person delegates and virtual attendees spanning six continents, were part of this historic event.

In her address, HRH Ambassador Dr. Andrise Bass, Founder and Chairwoman of IPPDR, highlighted the strategic nature of the summit and the declaration’s critical role in shaping youth leadership. “This generation is not waiting for permission. They are stepping into leadership with skill, heart, and purpose,” she said.

Furthermore, she stated that, “Peace is not merely the end of conflict; rather, it is the presence of well-informed citizens, ethical leadership, and institutions that reflect the will of the people.”

The Youth Summit in Mexico City was a resounding demonstration of what can be achieved when young people are empowered with space, structure, and support to lead. The adoption of the Youth Declaration sends a clear message: peacebuilding is concrete, teachable, and already happening, led by youth committed to shaping their future.

“Today is the day. Today is the time. The time is now,” declared HRH Ambassador Dr. Andrise Bass. “Let us help them lead, so that they can shape their future. It is our responsibility and civic duty to ensure that the future is secure, dignified, and peaceful.”
