In a rapidly evolving world where peace and security are challenged, consequences of climate change visible, and inequality growing, individuals, communities, and nations must coexist harmoniously. For peace to be a living reality, together we must act to embrace diversity, addressing differences through dialogue, and creating an environment conducive to achieving human security. 

Mission Statement

Mobilize and empower individuals dedicated to promoting peace by supporting the United Nations Charter and representing the Institute of Public Policy and Diplomacy Research. Commit to peacemaking, peacebuilding, peace consolidation and foster conditions that nurture a culture of peace at local and international level.

Bridging the Gap Between Policy and Practice

Connecting policies and decisions to the realities on the ground: Global Peace Ambassadors liaise between policymakers and those affected by the latter’s decisions. They ensure that government and International Organization’s initiatives are grounded in the realities of local communities. 

Facilitating Dialogue: Peace Ambassadors facilitate dialogue by promoting effective and efficient communication channels between different stakeholders, helping to resolve misunderstandings and building consensus.

Serving as the Link Toward Peacebuilding: Peace Ambassadors promote the alignment of local peace initiatives with national and international strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to peacebuilding. They seek political and financial support to critical issues, facilitating the implementation of peace projects that would increase social cohesion, and benefit the community and the country.

Creating conditions for Lasting and Durable Peace: 

Addressing the root causes of conflicts: Peace Ambassadors advocate for sustainable and long-term strategies that foster social cohesion and economic development, essential for durable peace. They ensure that adopted policies focused on conflict prevention, transformation, and resolution thus making actions more effective and impactful. 

Securing political, diplomatic and financial support: Ambassadors attract attention and seek support to critical issues, facilitating the implementation of peace projects that would increase social cohesion, and benefit the community and country. They promote peaceful and stable environment to attract investors, leading to economic growth and job creation.  These efforts would also contribute to improving quality of life, safer communities, better education, and better health outcomes.

Enhanced International Standing: Peace Ambassadors advocate for Multilateralism and Global Partnerships. They promote active participation in peacebuilding to enhance countries’ reputation and strengthen relationships among nations and international organizations.

Promoting a Rights based approach to Governance

Advocating for human security and sustainable development: Peace Ambassadors promote governance practices that increase public trust in Institutions and participation of the civil society. Their efforts contribute to providing more legitimacy to Institutions capable of managing conflicts peacefully, upholding the rule of law, and providing equal opportunities for economic development.

Mandate

Global Peace Ambassador will be pivotal in cultivating peace as a strategic national and international policy objective. Their Mandate will include:

Policy Development

Advocate for Progressive Policies emphasizing conflict prevention, nonviolent intervention, and peaceful conflict resolution. Work with lawmakers to incorporate peacebuilding principles into national and international laws. Partner with Government Agencies and Departments to ensure the implementation of peace initiatives. Support Critical Issues and assist civil society institutions that address challenges such as personal and family violence, human rights violations, mental health, transnational organized crime, child exploitation, and suicide prevention.

Community Engagement

Promote Community well-being through assistance to the development of Local Initiatives; participate in community projects to facilitate conflict resolution, and the implementation of programs that promote reconciliation and healing in post-conflict communities. Foster Social Cohesion, Cultural Exchange and Understanding, encouraging mutual respect and reducing prejudices.

Global Stability

Prevent conflict escalation through early warning, intervention, and peace promotion. ensure dignity and freedom to protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens. Promote understanding and prepare individuals to engage positively in an interconnected world.
